Centrifugal Spray Dryer and spray drying tower are widely used processes in liquid forming process and drying industry. They are suitable for producing powdered solid products from suspension emulsion, solution, emulsion and paste liquid raw materials. Therefore, when the powder size distribution, residual moisture content, bulk density and powder shape of the finished product meet the standards, the spray dryer is an ideal drying process.

 

Key points of spray drying process:

1. Contact between hot air flow and droplets: When there is a sufficient amount of hot air flow entering the spray drying chamber, the direction and angle of the hot air flow must be considered, whether it is parallel flow, countercurrent flow or mixed flow, to ensure sufficient contact with the droplets, so as to achieve sufficient heat exchange.

2. Atomization: The atomization system of the spray dryer must ensure that the droplet size is evenly distributed, which is crucial. Because this can ensure the qualified rate of product quality.

3. Design of pipe angle and cone angle: We have obtained some experience data from the production of nearly a thousand spray drying units, which can be shared with you.

Working principle

The spray dryer is an open cycle, parallel flow, centrifugal atomization machine. The drying medium air is filtered by the primary and medium efficiency air filters, and then sucked by the blower according to the operating instructions, and then heated by the heater and passed through the hot air distributor of the filter into the spray drying main tower. The liquid material passes through the peristaltic pump according to the operating instructions, enters the high-speed rotating centrifugal nozzle, and is dispersed into small droplets under the action of centrifugal force. In the spray drying main tower, the small droplets are fully in contact with the hot air, and after heat exchange along its specific path, they are dried into products, and then separated by the cyclone separator, the solid materials are collected, and the gas medium is discharged after filtering. The entire spray system is easy to clean, has no dead corners, and meets GMP requirements.

Features

1. The spray drying speed is fast. After the liquid is atomized, the surface area is greatly increased. In the process of contacting with hot air, 95%-98% of the water can be evaporated instantly. The drying time only takes a few seconds, which is very suitable for drying heat-sensitive materials.
2. The product has good uniformity, fluidity and solubility. The higher the purity of the product, the better the quality.
3. The production process of the spray dryer is simplified and the operation and control are convenient. For liquids with a moisture content of 40-60% (liquid materials can reach 90%), it can be dried into powder products at one time. After drying, there is no need for crushing and screening, which reduces the production process and improves the purity of the product. The particle size, bulk density and moisture of the product can be adjusted within a certain range by changing the operating conditions, which is very convenient for control and management.
